DUBAI – What are the main causes of fatal crashes in the UAE? Traffic authorities have identified the top two factors.
According to police, reckless driving remains the top cause of deadly accidents in the UAE, followed by speeding.
Last week, six people died when a bus crashed into a truck in Abu Dhabi. Police said the crash was caused by a third motorist who was driving recklessly.
In Sharjah, an Emirati man was killed and another severely injured after their car crashed into a streetlight last week. Police said the driver was speeding.
Last year, Dubai reported several deaths from traffic accidents in the emirate. Eight people died when a van crashed into a truck parked on by the roadside on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.
