DUBAI – An Arab woman died after she was hit by a speeding car in Ras Al Khaimah, according to police.
The woman, whose identity was not disclosed, was jaywalking after finishing her work at a beauty salon in the Khuzam area on Monday night.
“Initial enactment of the accident shows that the victim crossed the road from a non-pedestrian crossing area. The driver involved in the accident was speeding and could not avoid ramming into her,” according to the Ras Al Khaimah Police.
The victim sustained serious injuries and died on the way to the Saqr hospital.
Last week, police arrested a teen driver who ran over an Omani pedestrian on Al Oraibi Road. Police said the 16-year-old was driving without a license when he ran over the man and then fled the scene. ICA/Expat Media
