DUBAI – Six special Z licence plates in Dubai will be auctioned off to celebrate the life of UAE founding father Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The number lates are part of a collection of 80 plates that will go under the hammer at a Year of Zayed open auction at Hilton Al Habtoor City on November 17.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will donate proceeds of the auction to charitable causes in the UAE.
Interested bidders must pay a Dh120 subscription fee and have a traffic file in Dubai. Bidders also need to deposit a Dh25,000 cheque as security. Deposits can also be paid by credit card.
Registration for the auction is open via www.rta.ae, or the authority’s customer service centres at Umm Al Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, and Al Tawar Municipal Centre. At the venue, registration is open on November 17 from 2pm to 4:30pm. ICA/Expat Media
