DUBAI – An Emirati girl got a surprise visit from the ruler of Dubai after she became upset for missing a recorded call from him.
Footage of a crying Salama Al Qahtani spread on social media this week, showing the girl becoming upset for not receiving a recorded National Day phone call from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Many residents received a recorded message from Sheikh Mohammed on the eve of the 47th National Day.
The girl’s disappointment turned to elation when Sheikh Mohammed dropped by her home for a visit.
He told the girl: “The others I have just called, but I have seen you. So now you can say, ‘I met him’. Now I came to see you and drink coffee at your home.”
