DUBAI – A housemaid has landed in court for allegedly setting fire to her employer’s car in Sharjah, according to a newspaper report.
The employer accused the maid of arson after he spotted her standing near the blazing vehicle outside his home, the Al Khaleej newspaper reported.
He said that the housemaid claimed that she was putting out the fire.
He alleged that the housemaid doused his car with gasoline and set it on fire after she refused to go to the home of the man’s uncle.
A team from the Civil Defence arrived at the man’s home to extinguish the blaze.
In court, the housemaid denied her employer’s accusations. The hearing resumes on February 20. GAD/Expat Media
