Rain in UAE forecast until next week

 

DUBAI – Rain fell in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and parts of the UAE on Wednesday (November 20) as low surface pressure fueled unstable weather conditions.

Schools across the country were ordered closed on Wednesday due to “unstable weather conditions”.

According to the national weather bureau, the unstable weather will continue over the country on Wednesday, with more chance of rainfall of different intensities, accompanied by lightning and thunder at times.

Strong winds will also kick up dust and sand and reduce visibility over some areas, according to the National Centre of Meteorology.

Here’s the weather forecast for the next five days:

Wednesday, November 20

Unstable weather will continue over the country, with the weather to be cloudy in general with convective clouds over scattered areas, associated with rainfall of different intensities, with thunder and lightening at times and drop in temperatures. Strong winds will stir up dust and sand over exposed areas, lowering horizontal visibility. The sea will be rough to very rough in the Arabian Gulf and rough in Oman Sea.

Thursday, November 21

Cloudy to partly cloudy over some areas and, some convective clouds will appear during day times, especially over internal and eastern areas with a chance of rainfall. Moderate northwesterly to northeasterly winds, freshening at times especially with clouds, with a speed of 20 – 30, reaching 50 km/hr at times. Sea will be rough in the Arabian Gulf and moderate may become rough at times with clouds in Oman Sea.

Friday, November 22

Partly cloudy in general, some clouds will appear at times, especially over the sea and some eastern and western areas with a probability of some light rainfall. Light to moderate Southeasterly to Northeasterly winds, freshening at times, with a speed of 20 – 30, reaching 40 km/hr at times. Sea will be moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.

Saturday, November 23

Fair to partly cloudy in general, some clouds will appear, especially over the sea and some eastern and western areas with a probability of some light rainfall. Light to moderate Southeasterly to Northeasterly winds, freshening at times, with a speed of 20 – 30, reaching 40 km/hr at times. Sea will be moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea

Sunday, November 24

Fair to partly cloudy in general, clouds amount will increase gradually especially westward and over islands, with a probability of some rainfall. Light to moderate Southeasterly to Northeasterly winds, freshening at times, with a speed of 20 – 30, reaching 45 km/hr at times. Sea will be moderate in the Arabian Gulf may become rough at times and moderate in Oman Sea.
