DUBAI – A navy and white striped outfit worn by Princess Diana during a visit to Bahrain in 1986 sold at an auction for £120,000 (Dh560,000).

Diana was with Prince Charles when she wore the nautical-inspired two-piece outfit designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel.

Three outfits worn by Princess Diana sold under the hammer at Kerry Taylor Auctions on June 17, making a combined total of £262,500 (Dh1.2 million).

A single collector snapped up all the outfits in the auction, including a peach polka-dot dress by Catherine Walker.

Diana wore the dress when then Turkish president Kenan Evren visited the UK in 1998. The dress sold for £93,000 at the auction.

A woolen red skirt suit by Jasper Conran sold for £62,500. Diana wore the outfit when she christened the Royal Princess cruise liner in 1984. ICA/Expat Media
