Pope Francis’ UAE visit: All you need to know


DUBAI – Pope Francis will visit the UAE on February 3 in a landmark visit seen as a testament to interfaith cooperation in the Middle East.

The visit comes as the UAE marks 2019 as the Year of Tolerance. The theme for the pope’s visit is “Make me a channel of your peace”, derived from the Prayer of Peace of St. Francis of Assisi.

The pope is also scheduled to celebrate a holy mass for nearly 120,000 people at Zayed Sports City Stadium at 10:30am on February 5. Tickets to the mass are free and will be distributed to parishes throughout the Arab region. The mass will also be streamed live on
