DUBAI – Authorities at one of the UAE’s most popular attractions have imposed a ban on picnics in the area.
Residents and tourists can no longer have picnics in Sharjah’s Al Majaz Waterfront area, said Marwa Obaid Al Shamsi, general manager of the leisure destination.
The Al Majaz Waterfront is quite popular among families and groups who hold picnics and parties in spots across its 231,0000 sq ft area.
“The green spaces at Al Majaz waterfront are part of aesthetics of the facility and are not equipped for picnics,” Al Shamsi said.
“Visitors can enjoy all the facilities, play areas, enjoy the fountain shows, and the beautiful serene waters of Khalid Lagoon,” she added.
Al Shamsi said the ban on public picnics in the area is part of “continuous efforts to provide the ultimate experience as a family leisure destination”. GAD/Expat Media
