Pacquiao takes dig at Mayweather after rematch video surfaces

DUBAI – Is a Pacquiao-Mayweather rematch happening? It appeared so after a video of undefeated boxing star Floyd Mayweather talking about the issue surfaced on social media recently.

“I wanna say thank you. It’s an honor to come to Saudi Arabia to sit down with you guys to talk about the Mayweather versus Pacquiao rematch,” Mayweather said in the video clip that was leaked over the weekend.

“Saudi Arabia. Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather. I’m on my way,” he added.

Mayweather’s comments contradict his previous statements that there will be no rematch after his 2015 fight with boxing legend Manny Pacquiao.

After seeing the video, Pacquiao on Monday took to social media to comment about Mayweather’s apparent name-dropping move.

“Looks like @FloydMayweather is using my name again to get himself some attention,” Pacquiao said in an Instagram post, taking a further dig at the boxer by using the hashtag “#FunnyMoney”.

Mayweather quickly moved to kill speculation of the rematch, claiming he was paid $2.2 million for the video that was allegedly taken eight months ago.
