OMAN – The Ministry of Tourism in Oman has announced that it will organise recreational activities during Eid Al Adha as part of its effort to achieve Oman’s tourism strategy goals.
Locals and tourists will be able to take part in a series of cultural festivals beginning with the Silver Jubilee Park in Sohar, on the second day of Eid Al Adha and the Al Rustaq Castle Theater in South Al Batinah on the second, third and fourth day of Eid.
In the governorate of Dhofar, another event will be held at Etienne Land, as well as 2 to 4 days of Eid Al Adha and Musandam. The Eid celebration will be held at Khasab Cultural Sports Club in Khasab State during the third day of Eid.
The festival will also be held in the governorate of the interior in the Azqi General Park throughout the Eid Al Adha holidays in the state of Azqi. A heritage festival will be held in Al Dhahirah governorate in Ibri province during the second day of Eid Al Adha.
The campaign, launched by the Ministry and in cooperation with Oman Air and Holiday Me, aims to establish Oman as a preferred destination for short holidays for tourists from the region and a vacation destination for tourists from around the world, taking the country to the top of the global tourist map by 2040.
The campaign focuses on highlighting the unique cultural attractions of the Sultanate, as well as the attractive landmarks and historical sites that embody the rich heritage of the Sultanate, at the regional and local levels.
The campaign includes special discounts on airline tickets and accommodation that encourage tourists to visit Oman and soak in its rich culture and traditions.
“Oman’s natural beauty has been attracting an increasing number of tourists from the region and from around the world and we are confident that our tourist-friendly initiatives will go a long way in bolstering its growing global repute as a holiday destination of choice,” said Haitham Bin Mohammed Al Ghassani, Assistant Director General for Tourism Events and Awareness at the Ministry of Tourism.
