New UAE astronaut wanted, says Sheikh Mohammed

DUBAI – The UAE is looking for a new astronaut for its second space mission, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced.

The Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai on Friday called on men and women “with ambition, energy and determination” to apply.

The next astronaut from the UAE should be a degree-educated Emirati who can speak Arabic and English.

“People of all professions are invited to register,” according to a statement from the Government of Dubai Media Office.

The next Emirati astronaut will be trained to carry out scientific missions after Hazza Al Mansouri, who became the first Emirati to reach space. In October, Al Mansouri completed a mission at the International Space Station. ICA/Expat Media
