DUBAI – The first traffic camera designed to spot bus lane and taxi lane offences in Sharjah was installed on one of the emirate’s highways on Thursday (September 5).
Motorists caught driving on dedicated bus lanes and taxi lanes in the emirate will be fined Dh400.
Major General Saif Al Shamsi, Chief of Sharjah Police, said the new camera has been installed in Al Majaz, near the Khalid Lake.
Al Shamsi said that Sharjah’s Roads and Transport Authority is reviewing plans to install the special camera in more roads across Sharjah.
