DUBAI – Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle’s estranged father voiced his disappointment over her “sense of superiority”.
Thomas Markle hasn’t seen Meghan since she married Prince Harry in May.
“Perhaps it would be easier for Meghan if I died. Everybody would be filled with sympathy for her,” said the 74-year-old former Hollywood lighting technician.
Markle did not attend his daughter’s wedding at St. George’s Chapel on the Windsor Castle grounds.
According to news site TMZ, the incident may have been the result of Markle’s decision to have staged paparazzi photos taken of him preparing for the wedding. He had said money was not his motivation for agreeing to the photoshoot.
Markle claimed a royal aide called him to say: “You have offended the Royal Family but I can help you make an apology.”
“I’ve just about reached my limit with Meghan and the Royal Family. They want me to be silent, they want me to just go away. But I won’t be silent,” he said.
“What riles me is Meghan’s sense of superiority. She’d be nothing without me. I made her the Duchess she is today. Everything Meghan is, I made her,” he added.
Meghan has reportedly said she has “no choice” but to ignore her father over fears he may leak their private conversations. GAD/Expat Media
