DUBAI – Shocked by what he discovered during a midnight inspection of streets in Manila, Mayor Isko Moreno has ordered the dismissal of a police precinct chief.
Posting footage of the midnight drive-through in Carriedo street, the visibly annoyed Moreno expressed dismay at the garbage strewn in Carriedo street on Wednesday (July 24). Moreno ordered the relief of the Plaza Miranda police chief after the incident.
The Manila mayor has recently led an aggressive cleanup of Manila’s busiest streets, including Carried and Divisoria.
Moreno has said he supports President Rodrigo Duterte’s directive to reclaim public roads being used for private purposes nationwide.
“It’s good that the President is doing it and we are in support. The City of Manila and the capital of the country is in support of the President’s call,” Moreno had told reporters on Tuesday. ICA/Expat Media
