DUBAI – A 23-year-old Egyptian man has been jailed for raping a Filipina in a shared villa in Al Bada’a area.
The Dubai Court of First Instance sentenced the man to one year in jail. He will be deported after serving his sentence.
According to records, the 35-year-old Filipina was sleeping in her room during the September 2018 incident when she was raped by the Egyptian who was living in the same villa.
“I felt someone having sex with me while I was sleeping. When I opened my eyes, he fled the room,” the Filipina said.
She waited until her husband came home from work before they reported the incident to the police. A forensic report confirmed that the Egyptian had raped the woman.
