MANILA – A man was found dead inside the restroom of the busy Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on Sunday (May 19), authorities said.
According to the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), the janitor saw the man enter the restroom and raised alarm after he did not come out of the cubicle.
The deceased has been identified as Richard Alexander Parenas. He had checked in at 5:26am for a Davao-bound flight.
Parenas was found on the toilet seat, “unresponsive to any form of verbal or physical stimulation, with dilated pupils and was without a pulse, spontaneous breathing or heartbeat.”
MIAA Public Affairs Department officer-in-charge, Consuelo Bungag, said that Parenas was declared dead on the spot.
A MIAA medical team said Parenas died of cardio-respiratory arrest with unknown cause. GAD/Expat Media
