DUBAI – A 44-year-old Indian man in Dubai is on trial for allegedly killing his wife outside her office in Dubai’s Al Qouz industrial area.
At the trial in the Dubai Court of First Instance, prosecutors accused the man of premeditated murder.
Records showed that his wife was stabbed three times with a knife during the September 9, 2019 incident.
The man was staying in Abu Dhabi while his wife shared an apartment with a female colleague. The couple has two daughters in India.
During police interrogation, the man confessed that he and his wife had a heated argument when he stormed her office to confront her about a message he received from her boss that she was having an affair with another man.
They continued to argue outside her office where the husband stabbed her three times and left her “lying lifeless between cars in the parking lot”, police said.
A police officer testified that the victim sustained deep stab wounds in her abdomen and left thigh and that the knife was found near her body.
Police were able to arrest the man shortly after the incident. He was spotted wandering the emirate with a bag.
The trial continues on March 2. ICA/Expat Media
