DUBAI – A leakage in a gas cylinder caused an explosion at a villa in Ajman, injuring one person and damaging the residence.
Colonel Mohammed Al Suwaidi, director of the Ajman Civil Defence, said the faulty gas cylinder was kept outside the kitchen of the villa in Al Raqab.
An explosion occurred after the housemaid flicked on a switch during the Friday morning incident, said Al Suwaidi.
The woman was severely injured by the explosion and was taken to the Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Hospital for treatment.
The Ajman Civil Defence said that the explosion also destroyed the walls of the villa. GAD/Expat Media
