Filipina found stuffed in freezer of Texas home, probe continues

DUBAI – Investigations are still ongoing on Monday (August 5) into the case of a 22-year-old Filipina whose body was found stuffed inside a freezer in her home in Arlington, Texas.

Investigators suspect that Alyssa Marie Mejia Roger’s 66-year-old Dallas husband, Edwards Rogers Jr., killed her before proceeding to shoot himself.

Local authorities have reportedly located and identified the bodies of Edward and Alyssa at the Rogers’ household this Monday.

Edward’s friend told police that the retired machinist confided in him about killing his wife, and then showing him the body. Edwards reportedly smirked while grabbing her remains.

Investigators are looking at the deaths as a possible murder-suicide, with police investigation ongoing to find out when Alyssa died and the circumstances surrounding her death.

It has been reported that the couple met online and married two years ago, but were close to getting a divorce at the time of the incident. Alyssa allegedly filed for divorce due to physical abuse, The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.

Police also responded to disturbance calls at the Rogers household prior to the incident. Family members said that Edward had a long history of violence.

Court records show Alyssa had a protective order against her husband, who was due to be sentenced in August for assaulting her.

He also allegedly threatened to kill his son and ex-mother in law, family members said. In 2006, he was charged with the murder of a man. LKA/Expat Media
