DUBAI – An Emirati man was killed and another severely injured after their car crashed into a streetlight in Sharjah on Sunday (January 12), police said.
Police said the Emirati, 21, died on the way to the hospital following the crash on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road at around 1:30pm.
He and his Emirati colleague were taken on a rescue helicopter when the 21-year-old died of his injuries before reaching the Al Qassimi Hospital.
According to initial police investigation, the driver was speeding on the wet road, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.
