DUBAI – A building security guard has been sentenced to life in prison for repeatedly raping a mentally ill teenager in her family’s apartment.
The 21-year-old Pakistan security guard was convicted on Sunday (April 21) and will serve a maximum of 25 years in jail, the equivalent to a life sentence in the UAE. He will be deported after serving his sentence.
According to records, the Pakistani guard used a spare key to enter the apartment in Al Rafaa and rape the 18-year-old Iraqi victim while her mother was away.
The victim’s mother said that the teenager “was always crying and lost her appetite” after they moved into the apartment in February last year.
Last September, she finally told her mother that the security guard sexually assaulted her. A medical report confirmed her claims and recommended that she undergo trauma therapy. GAD/Expat Media
