DUBAI – A 27-year-old Portuguese DJ in Dubai won a private island off the coast of Canada and Dh100,000 as part of a recent competition in the emirate.
Brenden Lopes is now the owner of a 2.42-hectare island in Nova Scotia after winning the Win a Private Island competition by Emirates NBD-run online bank, Liv.
Lopes was stunned by his good luck, calling it a “slice of heaven”. He has not yet revealed plans for the island near a fishing village in Canada.
The exact price of the island is not known, but private islands in the area cost anywhere between $60,000 (Dh220,400) to $2 million.
It’s an end to the game but it’s the start of a new journey for Brenden Lopes
Congratulations, you now have your very own private island and AED 100,000 cash!
