DUBAI – An Air India Express flight to Dubai narrowly missed disaster on Friday after the plane’s wheels hit the outer wall of the airport in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu.
Officials said flight IX-611 took off at around 1:20am and made an emergency landing at around 5:40am in Mumbai.
All 130 passengers and six crew members are safe, officials said. A portion of the compound wall at Tiruchirappalli Airport was damaged, airport officials said.
Air Indian Express said that the aircraft was diverted to Mumbai as a precautionary measure.
