Driver who racked up Dh1.158 million in fines arrested in Ras Al Khaimah


DUBAI – An Emirati driver who committed 1,251 traffic violations amounting to Dh1.158 million in fines has been arrested in Ras Al Khaimah, police said.

The 23-year-old suspect was arrested in a raid on Sunday, said Col. Waleed Mohammed Juma, chief of Al Mamourah police station.

Col. Juma said the Emirati was also caught with an expired driving license.

The Emirati was caught 1,200 times for speeding, and had racked up 51 counts of impoundment for his vehicle, among other traffic violations.

Col. Juma said the total number of fines against the driver is the biggest ever recorded by Ras Al Khaimah Police. GAD/Expat Media
