DUBAI – India’s “Festival of Lights” or Diwali is set to bring a glittering city-wide celebration in Dubai that includes raffle draws, shows, and promotions.

The Dubai Festival City Mall will launch its fourth record-breaking IMAGINE show, ‘Hathi’s Garden’ on October 24, with a huge fireworks display and Bollywood dance shows at 8pm. The first 5,000 guests will receive a free LED wristband.
At City Centre Deira, shoppers with a minimum purchase of Dh250 stand the chance to win Dh25,000 every week until October 31.
Award-winning Rock band ‘Dhruv’ will welcome visitors at Dubai Airport on October 26 with a three-hour performance starting from 8pm.
The Pointe will stage a Surprise Box Dance show with dancers and a flash mob performance from October 18 to 27, and a fireworks display on October 26. Dners will also get 25 percent discount on selected stores.
Starting at 4pm, major prizes will be given away by Virgin Radio, City FM and Al Arabiya, which will be broadcasting live from Dubai Festival City Mall.
Fifty life-size baby elephant sculptures will be on display at Dubai Festival City for the world famous Elephant Parade exhibition.
Al Seef will be hosting a Diwali fair, “Diwali Mela”, from October 24 to 28, with a festive market, shows and children’s workshops. A magnificent fireworks display is planned on October 27.
At Ibn Battuta Mall, shoppers can enjoy exclusive offers, live entertainment, photo booths and giveaways.
Global Village kicks off its 24th season on October 29, with the Indian Pavilion becoming alive with more than 240 stalls of the best Indian handicrafts and products.
Bollywood stars Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan will perform at the “Legends Forever” concert at Sheikh Rashid Hall in Dubai World Trade Centre on October 18 from 7:30pm onwards.
Kolkata’s pop-up duo, Parekh and Singh, will perform at The Fridge in Al Serkal Avenue on October 21, from 8pm onwards.
The Indian Classical Forum will be presenting “From India with Love” this Diwali; a showcase of the greatest music maestros and artists of India, from October 31 to November 2 ant New World Private School.
The Indian Consul General and performers will welcome guests and passengers at Dubai Duty Free on October 22 before participating in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise Draw.
On October 18, the Zabeel Park Amphitheatre will be buzzing with activity from 3pm until midnight, with up to 20 stalls showcasing food, cosmetics, accessories, clothes and more alongside cultural shows and competitions such as Best Dressed Man, Best Dressed Woman and Best Dressed Family.
