MANILA – Disney will do a live-action remake of the 1994 animated classic “The Lion King” with James Earl Jones lending his voice to Mufasa and Donald Glover as the adult Simba.

Jones is the voice actor of Mufasa in the animated movie.

There is no release date for the movie, which will be directed by Jon Favreau, who also helmed the live-action remake of “The Jungle Book”.

Favreau directed “Iron Man” and “Iron Man 2” and is also at the helm of the next two “Avengers” films.

“The Lion King” remake will also be a CGI-created live action film like “The Jungle Book” released last year and “Beauty and the Beast” which will be shown in theaters worldwide next month. GAC/Expat Media
