DUBAI – Legendary Argentinian footballer Diego Maradona has reportedly proposed to a woman he once accused of stealing from his Palm Jumeirah villa.
This is the second time Maradona, 57, has proposed marriage to Rocio Oliva, 28, following the first one in Italy in 2014.
This time, Maradona reportedly got down on one knee and presented the ring to Oliva on her birthday at a private party attended by family and friends.
In 2014, Maradona had filed a criminal complaint against Oliva, also a football player, for allegedly stealing luxury watches and jewellery from his villa.
The alleged incident was believed to have taken place after the two broke up and Oliva left Maradona’s villa in Dubai.
Oliva was wanted by Dubai prosecutors for questioning, and an arrest warrant was issued against her following Maradona’s complaint. She had denied the allegations.
Later that year, Maradona dropped his complaint and waived his charges against Oliva. GAD/Expat Media
