DUBAI – A British expatriate allegedly assaulted Dubai policemen responding to complaints from his neighbours about loud music from his apartment.
Police said when they went to his apartment in a building in Business Bay, the Briton was shirtless, playing loud music, and appeared under the influence of alcohol.
He was then escorted out of the building to be taken to the police station when he grabbed one of the policemen by the neck, a police officer testified.
The inebriated Briton also allegedly tried to escape, ripping a policeman’s uniform and damaging his badge in the process.
“He knocked me down and kicked my leg,” the police officer testified, adding that they were able to bring the Briton under control and take him inside the patrol car.
The Briton has been charged with physical assault, damage to public property, public disturbance and consumption of alcohol. GAD/Expat Media
