DUBAI – A British man who was found hanging from the ceiling of his villa in Jumeirah has been rescued, according to Dubai Police.
Police were able to save him just in time after the man’s friend alerted police about his disturbing Facebook message where he threatened to commit suicide.
Police were able to track down the man’s address and were able to get inside his villa by climbing up a balcony during the January 2 incident.
Officers found the man hanging from the ceiling, with a belt tied around his neck. Police were able to revive him using CPR.
Brigadier Jamal Al Jallaf, director of Dubai Police’s criminal investigations department, said that the man was taken to Rashid Hospital for further treatment.
“He was almost unconscious and a suicide note he had written for his family was found on the bed,” said Al Jallaf.
The police official said that in the note, the man said he wanted to end his life “mainly because he had lost his investments”. ICA/Expat Media
