DUBAI – A flydubai plane that took off from Dubai struck a bird in mid-air, prompting pilots to return the plane back to the Dubai airport for landing.
The flight was bound for Saudi Arabia when it encountered the bird strike. It was scheduled to land at Jizan Airport at 1:30pm on Sunday.
A flydubai spokesperson said that the flight was delayed for nearly four hours due to the incident.
“flydubai flight FZ821 from Dubai to Jizan on February 10, 2019 returned to Dubai due to a bird strike. Passengers were accommodated on another aircraft and refreshments were provided. The flight was delayed by 3 hours and 55 minutes. We apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused to their travel schedules,” the spokesperson said. GAD/Expat Media
