DUBAI – The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention has ordered the withdrawal of two batches of talcum powder found to have high levels of bacteria.
In a recent circular, the ministry said that locally made Ajman Sacrifice For Her Powder, produced by Ajman Perfume Manufacturing in the UAE, may cause health risks.
The ministry issued the circular after receiving an alert from the Saudi Food and Drug Administration regarding batches A 7867012 08/2021 and A 7867068 09/2023.
The commission said that samples of the talcum powder products showed that the two batches of the powder product contained a high percentage of bacteria that exceeded consumer safety limit.
The authority warned that exposure to high percentages of bacteria may cause health risks to the consumer, and also noted that the product is not registered in the Drug Control Department in the ministry. GAD/Expat Media
