DUBAI – Brands such as Apple, Louis Vuitton and Toyota are among the top targets of counterfeiters in the UAE, according to the Dubai Police.
The Dubai Police said that in 2019, it cracked down on 297 cases of counterfeiting and forgery worth approximately Dh2.5 billion.
Among the fake products seized were women’s bag and accessories, mobile phones, car parts, watches, perfumes and cosmetics.
Brigadier Jamal Salem Al Jalaf, Director of Criminal Investigation Department, said that inspections are ongoing to combat crimes involving counterfeiting of all kinds.
