DUBAI – When you drive too close to the vehicle in front of you, there’s a 13 percent chance you could end up in a crash that may kill you.
The Abu Dhabi Police traffic department revealed that tailgating was the cause of 13 percent of traffic accidents in the capital during the first three months of 2018.
Tailgating is a serious traffic offence in the UAE that is punishable with a fine of Dh400 and four black points in the driver’s traffic file.
Motorists must leave sufficient distance between vehicles “in order to provide ample time for drivers to stop in a safe manner in the event of any sudden incident”, said
