Eid Al Fitr holiday for Dubai schools announced


DUBAI – Schools in Dubai will begin their Eid Al Fitr holiday on Thursday (June 14), the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) announced on Tuesday.

The authority said that students will need to “keep checking the news to find out whether there’s school on Monday”.

On Monday, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources announced that government employees will begin their Eid Al Fitr holiday on Thursday.

The authority said that the holiday will last until the third day of Shawwal, which falls on Sunday.

For the private sector, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced that the Eid Al Fitr holiday will begin on the first and second days of Shawwal.

With th UAE moon sighting committee declaring the start of Eid Al Fitr on Friday (June 15), the holiday for the private sector will last until Saturday.
