SHARJAH – Motorists involved in minor traffic accidents in Sharjah can quickly deal with paperwork through Rafid starting on Wednesday.
The new service by the Sharjah government replaces the existing Saaed service.
Motorists can contact Rafid on 80072343 or 901 or download the Rafid app and send a picture of the accident. A traffic expert would then assess the accident and issue a report.
The police report will then be issued through emai or SMS that motorists can present to the insurance company.
Motorists using the app will not be required to wait for police patrols to report minor accidents.
The service costs Dh400 if an officer is required to visit the accident site, but will only cost Dh50 if the Rafid app is used, said Salim Saeed Al Midfa, General Manager of Rafid.
There will be 50 Rafid patrols to cover Sharjah on the first stage of the service.
The Rafid headquarters is near Sharjah Road and the Transport Department. GAD/Expat Media
