DUBAI – Ahead of Ramadan, a total of 1,239 inmates have been pardoned in the UAE.
In Abu Dhabi, President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan ordered the release of 935 prisoners.
The prisoners, who have served various sentences and are of different nationalities, will soon be released to join their families.
In Sharjah, His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, ordered the release of 304 prisoners.
The pardoned prisoners were pardoned for showing good conduct.
The move is in line with the rulers’ keenness to bring happiness and hope to inmates and their families, especially during Ramadan. GAD/Expat Media
