RAS Al KHAIMAH – A 36-year-old Emirati man is recovering in hospital after he crashed his glider in Ras Al Khaimah, police said.
Faisal Bin Suwaid Al Shuhi was crusing in Al Muairedh area when he lost control of the glider at a height of 20 metres and crashed on Friday.
The Emirati was taken to Saqr Hospital for treatment. He suffered some bruises.
This is the second incident of its kind reported in the emirate. In March last year, a British man crashed his glider into a tree after swooping down a rocky valley in Jebel Jais.
David Willis, 78, suffered a few broken ribs and bruises from the crash.
He said that gust of wind caused him to lose control of the glider at about 1,000 feet and that the tree broke his fall. GAD/Expat Media
