NEW DELHI – Popular Punjabi singer and music director Parmish Verma was shot by unidentified assailants, police said on Saturday.
Verma was admitted to a private hospital in Mohali town in Punjab. He is reportedly out of danger.
Police said that the attack happened in sector 74 Mohali outside his housing society at around 1:30am. Verma was returning from a night club when he was shot in his legs. His friend, who was with him in the car, was also injured.
According to reports, wanted gangster Dilpreet Singh has claimed responsibility for the attack. On Facebook, Singh claimed that he shot the singer.
