SHARJAH – All expatriate employees of the Sharjah government will be given a 10 percent salary increase, His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah announced on Saturday.
The salary increase will be implemented retroactively from the start of January.
In a video, Sheikh Sultan said he wanted to increase salaries of all employees in Sharjah government in appreciation of their loyalty. He earlier announced salary increases for Emirati government workers.
The Sharjah ruler ordered a budget of Dh600 million to cover the salary increases of government employees in the emirate beginning on January 1.
Based on the new pay structure, Sharjah government employees’ pay scales will fall under any of eight grades. The lowest salary grade is 8 for those who did not finish secondary school. Employees with this pay grade will get a minimum monthly salary of Dh17,500. GAD/Expat Media
