DUBAI – A 32-year-old Indian man was sentenced to six months in jail followed by deportation for stripping his co-worker and filming him naked in front of their flatmates.
At the Dubai court on Monday (February 12), the Indian man said that he attacked his Indian colleague, 31, for allegedly taking photos of him with a female co-worker and sending the photos to his wife, who then divorced him.
“I just told him that I would do the same thing that he did to my family. I have lost my wife because of the images that he sent to her… we got divorced,” he told the court.
The two worked for the same restaurant in Jumeirah Village. On the day of the incident, the 32-year-old stormed into their apartment and beat up his colleague before stripping him naked and filming him in front of their flatmates.
The victim later reported the incident to the police, who apprehended his colleague. He has repeatedly denied his colleague’s accusations.
“He said I had filmed him in an indecent situation with our female colleague and forwarded those images to the managers and his wife … but I denied it. He did not believe me and beat me up,” the victim testified in court.
“Then he removed my dress and made me naked in front of other flatmates… he then filmed me naked and threatened to post those images on social media if I reported him to the police,” he said.
