DUBAI – “I am not guilty,” a 48-year-old Filipina babysitter told the Dubai Misdemeanours Court at her trial for allegedly assaulting her employer’s five-year-old son.
A neighbour had reported seeing the Filipina slap the boy for dropping her mobile phone while they were at the community park.
The witness said the irate woman slapped the boy repeatedly and then grabbed his neck.
The neighbour intervened to stop the assault and kept the boy with him until his mother arrived from work.
Following the incident, the boy’s mother filed a police complaint, and the babysitter was taken into police custody.
Dubai Police’s forensic examiner also confirmed that the boy had sustained different injuries.
Prosecutors charged the Filipina with assault. At her trial on Tuesday, the judge adjourned the case to later this month. JMYDS/Expat Media
