DUBAI – A 23-year-old Jordanian man has been jailed after losing his appeal for peeping at a 23-year-old Filipina in the washroom of the hotel where they work.
The Jordanian, a computer operator, will be spending three months in jail and then deported for peeping at the secretary while she was inside the washroom.
A Filipina administrator who was inside the washroom spotted the man standing on top of the toilet seat in one of the cubicles to peek at her colleague in the other cubicle.
She then informed her colleague about the incident, who confronted the Jordanian.
“I asked him to come out but he stayed there for 10 minutes. When he came out, he claimed that he had mistakenly entered the women’s washroom,” she told prosecutors.
The Filipina said that surveillance camera footage revealed her male colleague’s ill intentions.
“When we checked the surveillance cameras, the Jordanian was seen going into the women’s washroom and coming out more than once,” she said.
The Dubai court on Wednesday upheld the Jordanian man’s three-month jail term followed by deportation. DAJ/Expat Media
