SHARJAH – The Sharjah World Music Festival is back for its 5th season in January. Here are six reasons you shouldn’t miss it.
Music lovers will surely be entertained with sights, sounds and colours from January 12 to 19 at Al Majaz Amphitheatre. The eclectic mix of music ranges from Arabic to Andalusian and Jazz orchestras.
The event this year offers a “spectacularly curated” program with a stellar line-up of Arab and Western artists and musicians.
The music fest features musicians from 11 countries like Kuwait, Spain, Hungary, Ukraine, Argentina, Spain, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Iraq and others.
If you’re a fan of musician Abdel Halim Hafez, you shouldn’t miss the tribute night performed by the Cairo Opera House Orchestra.
Music lovers can catch 14 concerts, including nine free concerts at Al Qasba and Al Majaz Waterfront and five ticketed shows at Al Majaz Amphitheatre and the Flag Island theatre.
A singing competition will be organised in Al Qasba plaza.
