DUBAI – Watch how you drive or cross the streets in Dubai today and in Sharjah tomorrow. You just might be flagged by a traffic policeman and rewarded for being a responsible road user.
Ten law-abiding road users in Dubai will be given a Dh1,000 cash prize on Tuesday (November 14) as part of the Mobil 1 GoldStar road safety campaign.
The campaign began on Monday in Dubai, where authorities awarded 10 road users a Dh1,000 cash prize each for following traffic rules.
On Wednesday, the campaign will roll out in Sharjah where 10 responsible road users will also get Dh1,000 each.
For motorists, the campaign looks at proper use of child safety seats in the vehicle, wearing seat belts, using hands-free mobile devices and indicators, lane discipline, and observing speed limits.
For pedestrians, the campaign looks at proper use of designated pedestrian crossings.
For cyclists, it focuses on following road traffic safety practices. ICA/Expat Media
