DUBAI – A gang involved in a global drug trafficking ring has been arrested following a two-year investigation, the chief of Dubai Police said on Monday (November 13).
Dubai Police Chief Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri said that 80 members of the gang were arrested by UAE security authorities in a joint operation with German police.
Al Marri said that the suspects were arrested in Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, and Austria.
Police also seized two tons of drugs, including cocaine, heroin, methamphetamines and khat.
The suspects had concealed the drugs in various methods, including hiding them in objects such as candies, parcels, transistor radio, and even vegetables. DAJ/Expat Media
