17 deadly iPhone apps you should uninstall now

DUBAI – The next time you download an app on your iPhone, make sure it’s not one of 17 that has been named as malware.

Mobile security company Wandera recently released a list of 17 apps for iOS that are infected with clickware for ad fraud.

“Clicker Trojan is a well-understood class of malware that performs ad-fraud by making frequent connections to ad networks or websites in order to artificially inflate visitor counts or to generate revenue on a pay-per-click basis,” said Wandera.

Apple has since removed all 17 apps in its App Store. However, users who have downloaded the app are advised to delete them immediately.

According to reports, the apps would load advertisements, open website in the background and change device settings to subscribe users to expensive subscriptions services, without user consent.
