DUBAI – Dubai Customs officials foiled two separate attempts to smuggle a total of 13kg of illegal drugs into the country this year, an official said.
Dubai Customs Director Ahmed Mahboob Musabih said customs officials seized 4.4kg of heroin and 8.6kg of cocaine at the Dubai International Airport this year.
Musabih said that customs officials in Jebel Ali also stopped 35 drug smuggling attempts. According to records, there were 1,628 drug smuggling attempts thwarted this year.
