DUBAI – Thirteen men vying for the title in the Man of the Philippines-UAE pageant showed the UAE crowd how to wear the barong in style at the recent pre-pageant in Dubai.
The traditional barong Tagalog, considered the national dress of the Philippines got a modern flair as the men strutted centrestage at Tantra Club on Friday.
The pre-pageant barong collection worn by the finalists was created by Dubai-based designer Jojo Lapore.
The finalists will be competing in the Dubai finals on September 28 at the Carlton Palace Hotel to bag the title Man of the Philippines-UAE and win a spot in the grand finals of the Man of the Philippines pageant in Manila on December 1. GAD/Expat Media
